Virumaandi plot
Civil rights activist Angela Kathamuthu conducts interviews with inmates in Chennai during her thesis arguing against the death penalty. In her visits, she unfolds the tale of Virumaandi Thevar who is charged with a series of offences associated with a land-related case. He is sentenced to death. Angela learns that the prison staff is corrupt which puts them as well as other people at risk. The revelation of Virumaandi’s innocence happens in disorderly and during the jailbreak. Angela presents evidence in support of his discharge, arguing that a period of six years is enough penalty. Through a television confession, Virumanadi finds himself between justice and a lifetime marked with the memories of the past.
